LAND OF THE DINOSAURS
DAY 01 – NEUQUEN + CITY TOUR
Arrival to Neuquén. Transfer from the airport to the hotel.
The attractions that the province of Neuquén shows throughout its territory are multiple and each region has its own characteristic.
The steppe area, with its center in the capital city of Neuquén itself, offers a type of tourist activity based on paleontology, with several excavations and museums, and the most recent Wine Route, which brings together different wineries that open their doors to visitors.
In the north, ancient populations like Chos Malal and Andacollo, dedicated to goat and sheep breeding, keep the traditions of rural Neuquén. In this area, further to the south and over the mountain range, the thermal region stands out, with its axis in the towns of Caviahue and Copahue.
In the central western region, in Aluminé and Villa Pehuenia, the millenary araucaria forests stand out, forming part of a wild and dry geography.
To the south, the lake area is admired for its forests and its intricate basins, whose crystalline waters bathe lands of volcanic origin. The Route of the 7 Lakes is developed in this sector and is a sample of the natural harmony of the region, linking San Martin de los Andes with Villa la Angostura.
HALF DAY CITY TOUR
In the afternoon visit to the city.
Neuquén itself did honor to the meaning of its name: daring, bold, strong in the Mapuche language. It develop quickly and continuously over the past years, the fastest growing city in Patagonia, located at the confluence of the rivers Limay and Neuquén, is basically characterized by three aspects: its commercial hierarchy, because of being the center of the political, administrative and cultural movement of the region and for its lively nightlife.
The City Tour invites passengers to learn about the recent history of our city through a tour around its historical center, which is hidden in the middle of it. It is an interesting and very enjoyable tour that allows us to observe our city from another perspective, stopping to look at the following attractions: View point of the Valley , Centenary Square, Foundational Monolith , Monument to General San Martín, First Chapel of the city, María Auxiliadora Cathedral, Central Park , Railway Station, Paseo de la Costa & Limay River.
Return and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 02 – PALEONTOLOGICAL CIRCUIT – LOS BARREALES
Breakfast at the hotel.
“Centro Paleontológico Lago Los Barreales” –“ Proyecto Dino” is located on the shores of Lake Los Barreales, approximately 90 kms from the city of Neuquén, and is the research center of the Universidad Nacional del Comahue. It can be considered the first geo-paleontological park in Argentina created in 2002 and its aim is to rescue from the rocks all the rest of the animals and plants that lived in this area over 90 million years ago.
It is the only Upper Cretaceous Terrestrial Ecosystem in South America.
Through the visits, the tourist / visitor will be able to see in situ the work of the paleontologists while entering the world of geology and paleontology.

DAY 03 – SAN PATRICIO DEL CHAÑAR WINERIES

The present circuit is intended for visitors to have an approach to the recent wine activity in San Patricio del Chañar, a town located 45 km away from the city of Neuquén. In addition to visiting the wine producing factory from the inside, they will be able to taste their main wines.
Visits to: Family Schroeder Winery or Malma Winery or similar.
In the Schroeder Family winery an attraction to observe, is the place of the discovery of the fossil remains of an herbivorous dinosaur of 75 million years ago, found during the construction of the winery. This discovery inspired the name "Saurus" to one of the first lines of wine

DAY 04 – NEUQUÉN
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer from the hotel to the airport or transfer to San Martín de Los Andes to begin the “Route of the 7 Lakes”.
